GM Sells More than 2 Million Vehicles in China for 2nd Year in a Row

General Motors has been the market leader inChina for the past six years, selling cars under the Baojung, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Jiefang, Opel and Wuling brands.
On October 17, the Detroit maker it announced that it sold more than 2 million vehicles in the world’s largest car market since January 1st. This is the second consecutive year that GM manages to top the 2 million mark in China, only this time it achieved it a little earlier than 2010, when it happened on November 4.
Kevin Wale, president and managing director ofGM China Group, said: “This is another outstanding achievement for GM. Our key brands and many of our key products have continued to experience record demand despite intense competition.”
Compared to 2010, Cadillac sales have increased by an astounding 73%, Buick by +24% andChevrolet by +18%.
GM, which in 2010 sold a total of 2.35 million vehicles in the country, has the largest line-up of brands and models in China operating 11 joint ventures plus two foreign-owned enterprises with more than 35,000 employees.

Rumors: New 2013 Cadillac XTS Sedan to Break Cover in Los Angeles

It looks like the all-new Cadillac XTS that will replace both the DTS and STS sedans will make its world premiere at next month's Los Angeles International Auto Show, or at least that's what is being reported by InsideLine.
It was anticipated that the XTS would debut either in LA in November or at the Detroit Show in January as General Motors has already revealed that sales will begin in the spring of next year.
The flagship XTS will be based on last year's XTS Platinum concept study, though it will most likely ditch the prototype's plug-in hybrid system that combined a 3.6-liter V6 engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 350HP and 295 lb-ft of torque.
More recently, GM showed off the XTS's dashboard during the presentation of the new Cadillac CUE infotainment system in San Diego.

New Cadillac CTS Coupe Becomes Best-Seller in its Segment in the U.S.

“If it looks right, it’ll fly right”: the saying from the aeronautical field isn’t always accurate. But as far as cars are concerned, if it looks right, then you can bet that this will affect sales in a positive way.

One such example is the new Cadillac CTS Coupe. Few can deny that it's appearance is one of its strong points, and sales figures prove that it surely flies - out of the showrooms, that is.
Only a year after launch, the CTS Coupe is the best-selling mid-size luxury coupe in the U.S., and it's competing for the title of the best-selling luxury coupe in the market, or at least that's what General Motors is claiming.

From January until the end of September, Cadillac shifted 15,771 cars or 27% of the total CTS sales, which also include the sedan and Sport Wagon models. This is in sharp contrast to its competitors, where coupes account for only 9% of their total models’ volumes.
Kurt McNeil, vice president of Cadillac sales and service, said: “The launch and sales of the CTS Coupe has been an unqualified success and sets the stage for the all-new ATS and XTS models as a critical step in Cadillac’s brand renaissance.”

The Coupe seems to have acted as a halo model for the entire CTS range as sales of its two other versions have also increased, with total sales of the CTS family having grown by 24% compared to 2010.
